I will be talking about my years at Howard on here a lot, like A LOT! Charter Day was always cool cause the community of Howard would always stop and shout out the University, and there be some poppin parties. As I watched the webcast of the ceremony I though about all the lives the school has touched and how amazing the community is. I don't know if it is the fact that this is my first year as an alum or what but I just felt a deeper appreciation for Charter Day. I recently read Ta-Nehisi Coats book "Between the World and Me" and it really had me hype for his keynote speech. He really summed up a lot of my feelings about Howard.
When I heard that I laughed and thought to myself "facts". He took it to a deeper level and touched on a lot of things that a son of Howard would touch on, just an amazing speech. Salute to Mr. Coates and everything he is doing for the culture.
I mentioned how there are always poppin parties around charter day. This year was no exception. Always great to drink combatively with the Howard family.
